RBC Brewin Dolphin appoints new head of office in Edinburgh

Alisdair Dewar has been appointed as RBC Brewin Dolphin’s new head of office for Edinburgh, following Johnny McGlynn’s decision to retire at the end of last year.

Mr Dewar’s appointment makes a strong addition to the Edinburgh team, bringing with him 30 years’ experience across financial services. Mr Dewar joins most recently from Coutts & Co where he was head of Scotland and North West England. Having started his career as a summer intern with RBS in 1995, he then joined Adam & Company in 1999 where he held several positions including leading the various Scottish offices.

RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Edinburgh office is the largest outside of London, employing over 250 people. RBC BD has occupied the Atria building for approximately 12 years with specialist divisions housed there for private client, intermediary, charity, and financial planning.
