STC INSISO expands presence in water and utilities sectors

Aberdeen-based software company STC INSISO has secured two major contracts with UK water utilities, Severn Trent Water and South West Water, totalling over £70,000.

STC INSISO will provide its COMET Investigate audit and investigation tool to both firms. South West Water, a long-term customer, has renewed its contract, while Severn Trent Water has signed an 18-month SaaS agreement with the possibility of extension.

South West Water, and parent company Pennon Group, have been COMET customers for several years. STC INSISO created content for the company’s HomeSafe programme previously, which was designed to improve safety performance through the delivery of e-learning modules. The latest contract renewal will involve South West Water committing to a revised ‘purchase and support’ agreement.

Steve Holmes, COO at STC INSISO, said: “Supporting the UK water sector through two of the largest suppliers is a real positive for STC INSISO.

“Growing our presence in the water and the broader utilities sector is a strategic goal of ours, so we are delighted that South West Water has extended its contract for our COMET Investigate software, and that we’re now supporting Severn Trent too, following a successful pilot of COMET late last year.

“The water utility sector is a mature, safe, and forward-looking sector and the adoption of COMET by two of its bigger providers shows how serious it is about maintaining that position and making further gains to protect its people and the environment.”

The COMET toolkit is widely utilised in a number of industries to control risk and assure operations. As many of STC INSISO’s key customers are within the utilities industries, the company will have a presence at the forthcoming Utility Week Live event in Birmingham on 16-17 May.
