FRP Advisory appointed as liquidators for Coille Haulage

Scottish haulage firm, Coille Haulage Ltd, has appointed Michelle Elliot and Callum Carmichael of FRP Advisory as joint liquidators as the firm entered liquidation.
The collapse of the Lochgilphead-based company has resulted in the immediate redundancy of all 24 employees.
Joint liquidators from FRP Advisory were appointed to the company on August 14. They attributed the failure to a “perfect storm” of challenges, including legacy debts from the Covid-19 pandemic, sharply rising operational costs, and tightening profit margins, The Herald reports.
Founded over two decades ago, the family-run business was a respected name in Scotland’s timber supply chain. However, it had limited capacity to pass increasing costs on to its customers. According to the liquidators, the directors’ efforts to secure additional funding were unsuccessful, leaving them with no viable alternative but to cease trading as critical liabilities fell due.
FRP Advisory is now supporting the redundant staff with their claims and is proceeding with an orderly wind-down of the company. The firm’s freehold site and equipment are being offered for sale.
